Little Beach is one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches on the Island of Maui and is a favorite destination for both local and gay and lesbian visitors. |
About Gay Maui Maui is a very gay-friendly island. There are many gays and lesbians that live and work here. Some of Hawaii's leading and most respected entertainers, and cultural leaders live on Maui and are gay and lesbian. Although Maui is rural compared to the big bustling city of Honolulu on Oahu, there is culture and arts, clubs, and of course our world famous gay beach called “Little Beach” . Gay Beach Gays and lesbians from around the world come to Maui specifically to spend time at Little Beach. Visitors come back year after year to relax and enjoy this spectacular clothing-optional beach. Sundays at Little Beach features an hypnotic drum circle and fire dancing at sunset. This is a great spot for boogie boarding, surfing, body surfing, snorkeling and bronzing to a perfect tan! Gay Organizations Maui also has a gay organization called “Both Sides Now” which organizes events and advocates for equal rights. They have several whale watching boat tours every year, and have parties such as “Pricilla” and fund-raisers. See their website at www.mauigayinfo.com
Dining Club The Rainbow Dining Club is a nice way for our lesbian Ohana (Family in Hawaiian) to get together socially and enjoy a great dinner once a month. The club meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at restaurants selected to provide a variety of cuisines An invitation is extended and encouraged to both kama’aina (locals in Hawaiian) and visitors to join us at any of their dinners There are no gay clubs on Maui, however, there are clubs that have Gay Nights.
